MobileMag report the annoucement at CES 2006 of a new mobile phone from Sony Ericsson with a built in MP3 plaer, the Walkman W810i:

Providing a slight upgrade of existing technology, Sony Ericsson are unveiling at CES on Thursday the new W810i Walkman phone. It’s a music player, a mobile phone, and a cameraÑall in one tiny package.

Built on the best-selling W800 model, it sports that offering’s high quality and features, along with EDGE and Quadband GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and a set of dedicated music buttons in the joystick, in addition to the usual face-front selection.

New Launches report the release of a new UTec S808 mobile phone with MP3 player capabilities.

Despite having a thickness of only 21 mm ( its a slider). The 1.8 incher display [176 x 220 pixels] can show upto 262,000 colors. The S808 will use the display to the maximum since it can show 3GP as well as MPEG 4 movie formats. Also present in the handset are a 1.3 Megapixel camera that can take still pictures as well as video. The phone comes with a built-in MP3 player which can be directly accessed by a short cut key. The best part about the MP3 player is that is shall be able to play music by operating in the background even while the user is working on other operations.

Apple Insider report that Motorola are releasing a new iTunes phone

Modelled after the Motorola RAZR V3, the RAZR V3i (previously dubbed the RAZR2) will be just the second mobile handset to feature Apple’s iTunes software. It includes an updated and streamlined brushed-metal design, offering a large internal color screen, a hot swappable TransFlash memory card, quad-band technology and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

The handset, which includes a dedicated iTunes key, also sports an integrated 1.23 megapixel digital camera with a full screen view-finder, 8x digital zoom, and video capture and playback.

Let’s hope it’s better than the first, which was widely perceived as a flop.
