MP3 Players: Creative Zen Nano Plus - Reviews by CNET.

cNet provides a review of the Creative Zen Nano Plus (1GB) MP3 player, giving it a 7.3/10:
Creative Zen Nano

The good: Plenty of cool color options; ultracompact design; comes with a belt clip, a case, and an armband; impressive, but not great, sound and recording quality; supports DRM-protected songs; includes FM, voice, and line-in recording features.

The bad: Small LCD; no true playlist support.

The bottom line: If you’re looking for a feature-packed flash player but you don’t want to spend a ton to get one, Creative’s Zen Nano Plus is the device for you.

MP3 Players: MobiBlu B153 review by CNET.

cNet put the MobiBlu B153 MP3 player through its paces, being reasonably happy, giving it a 7.3/10
Mobiblu B153

The good: The MobiBlu B153 offers unbeatable battery life as well as nifty features such as an FM radio, line-in recording, and SRS Wow sound effects. Podcast Ready software comes loaded on the device, allowing for automatic updating of subscribed podcasts from any Internet-connected computer.

The bad: The MobiBlu B153’s design is blah, and navigation is strictly via folder trees, so there’s no sorting by artist, album, genre, and so on. Also, the screen is small in relation to the device.

The bottom line: MobiBlu’s B153 isn’t the most stylish MP3 player on the block, but if you’re looking for an ultra-long-lasting device with plenty of features, it may be just the ticket.

MP3 Players: Shiro Soccer Ball MP3 Player (The Gadget Blog news)

The Gadget Blog report on another gimmicky MP3 player, the Shiro Soccer Ball MP3 player, though no word on the memory:
Shiro Soccer Ball MP3 player

Shiro scores a winning MP3 player that’s 37.4mm diameter in size, powered by a Sigmatel chipset and a self-illuminated OLED display that’s showed up under the clear sun too. The FM radio allows you to catch the latest football highlights and you can also record the ‘live’ commentary of your favourite moments while you are on the move. Too bad you can’t throw this ball when your favourite defender does a own goal or it’ll go flying into pieces

MP3 Players: Sungale MP3 Watch (ChipChick news)

ChipChick report the availability of a rather unusual MP3 player, the Sungale MP3 Watch:
Sunglae MP3 Watch

The problem with many mp3 watches is that they tend to be ugly and bulky. Here is one whose classic-looks would never let you guess it also played mp3s.  This Mp3 watch available from First Street also has a built-in voice recorder, it weighs 8 ounces, is water resistance, has a Citizen Quartz Mechanism, comes with retractable headphones, and it has a decent 10 hour battery life.  Unfortunately it only has 256MB of memory inside. The watch retails for $139.95.

Seems to us that having your ears and wrist tethered to each other would become quite annoying. That said, with wireless earphones this could be really popular.

MP3 Players: Tomy Teddy Bear MP3 Player (TechEBlog news)

TechEBlog reports of an MP3 player designed like teddy bear from Tomy, best known for their toys.
Teddy Bear Mp3 Player

Undeniably cute and expensively priced. Tomy’s “Teddy Bear MP3 Player” boasts just 128MB memory and only supports MP3/WMA audio playback. On the plus side, it has USB connectivity and gets up to 8 hours of continuous use on 1 AA battery

The earphone jack shoved into his head looks a bit uncomfortable for the poor fella, but the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about!

Mobiblu DAH-1500i

Pros: Easy to use out of the box; ultra-compact form-factor great for traveling light; great voice- and FM-recording capabilities; innovative combination headphone and lanyard design; EQ presets and custom setting plus SRS option help songs sound even sweeter.

Cons: No iTunes integration; small buttons and display make navigation difficult; display shows filenames rather than artist and track info; poor FM reception.

Sherwood Digital Audio Card

Korean manufacturer Sherwood has introduced the world’s slimmest MP3 player only 5 mm thick. It is about the size of a credit card and has a LED display which can show only 2 digits at a time. With such a small display you can only expect it to show track number and volume and forget about track information, playlist etc. It’s battery provides only 8 hours of continuous playback time. The Sherwood Digital Audio Card has interchangeable faceplates for customization. No information if it has onboard Flash memory or supports memory cards. There are no controls on the MP3 player, controls are provided on the wired remote control.
Sherwood’s Digital Audio Card measures 5 x 61 x 91mm and weighs 49 grams. Though it’s slim form factor is appealing it’s lack of features may make you think twice before getting one.

MP3 Players: Cowon iAudio F1

PC Magazine have reviewed the Cowon iAudio F1 but found it somewhat disappointing, giving it only 2.5 out of 5:
Cowonn iAudio F1

Bottom Line: With its cool matchbox-car design, the Cowan iAudio F1 should appeal to younger music fans, but its subpar battery life, weak bass, and lack of WM DRM 10 support hold it back.

Pros: Broad feature set. Cool design. Compact and lightweight. Lots of sound enhancement options.

Cons: No WM DRM 10 support. Bass is a bit weak. No AC adapter. Battery life isn’t what’s claimed.

No longer a dark horse in the digital audio player space, Cowon continues to pump out solid, if not great, MP3 players, and the Cowon iAudio F1 ($159.99 list) is no exception, despite being gimmicky. Considering the interesting design and ample feature set, the price tag isn’t too unreasonable for a 1GB flash-based player. Still, it needs some improvements before it tops our list.
